Consider that your agency has recently received a grant to support predictive policing efforts, so each department must create a presentation advising the best way to spend the funds. Your supervisor has tasked you with examining, researching, and creating a presentation that shows established research on the use of predictive policing in the policing environment.

Summarize the goals and objectives of predictive policing and how it works. Identify and describe your jurisdiction/police/sheriff’s department. Summarize your research findings on the current predictive techniques used in criminal justice in the jurisdiction you selected. Summarize the successes and failures resulting from existing or former predictive-policing programs in your chosen location. Explain the effect that predictive policing had on police-community relations in that location. Provide specific examples that are relevant to this jurisdiction and are supported by research. Advocate for a specific change in the use of predictive policing that will improve the system in your location and/or will help alleviate a negative consequence of predictive policing in the jurisdiction you selected. Explain your reasoning. Cite at least 2 scholarly sources outside of the assigned readings.
