JOURNAL ARTICLE REVIEW ASSIGNMENT INSTRUCTIONS
OVERVIEW
You have been learning and reading about the importance of documentation of paper medical records. Throughout the years, due to the advancement of technology, more medical centers are beginning to adopt electronic medical records. Today, most facilities have either already started the process of moving to all electronic or are in-between (a hybrid record). This assignment will encourage you to research the topic of Electronic Health Records (EHR), specifically the process and challenges of converting to an HER system from a paper record systems.
INSTRUCTIONS
For this assignment, do an Internet search and find 2 peer-reviewed articles from within the past 3 years that discuss the complexities around implementing a new electronic health record system from a current paper system process. Make sure you examine 2 types of patient settings (e.g., hospital vs. doctor office). Each setting has its own complexities to be identified. The paper must include at least 2 scholarly sources in addition to the course textbooks. The paper must be at least 750–1,000 words.
