3–Page Research Paper:

In this assignment, you will write a 3–page research paper. 3-pages is 1,500 words single spaced, font in Times New Roman, 12 pt size, and typed into the Canvas Textbox.

Write a 3-page research paper on a topic you would like to learn more about or expand on one you have already learned about in the course. For example, here are some ideas: you may pick a particular theory, or a topic covered in the course material and modules. Topics include but not limited to: Mexican Americans in education, Chicanx cinema, music, media, movies, theatre, poetry, art, Mexican food, immigration issues, Aztec Dance, Chicano Park research Chicano Park (you can go down to the park and take pictures and do some investigative research too).

You may highlight a particular historical era, research an activist from the Chicano Movement, research Chicanx poet(s) and their work, or an artist or particular artwork we have covered. You can write about Chicana/o/x social justice organizations (historical or current) and identify solutions to the issues raised by Chicana/o/x activist, scholars, artists. You may also want to research a current issue and tie it to its’ historical context. If there is a topic that you would like to write about that is not listed above, feel free to write about it and you can always email to check in about your topic before you begin your research. Racism in American and Mexican social status
Chicano/a/x Art and Artists
Racial labels, identity, and Mexican racial status in the U.S., Anti-Mexican sentiment
Gender issues, Chicana feminism and Chicana/Mexican women
Language issues, forced assimilation of Mexicans, speaking or not speaking Spanish, and English only language policies in the U.S.
OR any other topic we have studied.
