In your new role, you have joined a team that has been working for 6 months on foreign threats to US election integrity and is meeting weekly with leading social media and major news organizations. You observe activity in your first meeting that makes you uncomfortable. You have also had discussions with some of your team that is negative about past activities and especially the press articles on the Twitter files revelations. After some reflection, you decide to draft a guidance paper for your team to provide boundaries on the discussions. Your paper will have to get approval from your boss, the agency deputy director and must reference authoritative guidance, provide practical procedures for the team, and maintain the relentless focus on protecting election security which is an issue with Presidential level attention.
