Discussion – The External Environment

Most of us can agree that humans are dependent on the environment but we cannot do much to change our immediate environment and have only marginal effects on competitors and politics. But businesses can exert a different kind of influence on the world around them.  In this exercise consider the PESTLE analysis model.

Now choose one of the following companies for your discussion post:

Facebook
Amazon
Exxon
The Walt Disney Company
Etihad Airways

What is your assessment of the company you selected PESTLE threats or opportunities? How well does your company address these environmental factors?  Does it do a good job?  Is there one that it is best in?  One that it fails in?

Please post your discussion by 23:59 Friday of Week 2 and post a response to a colleague’s post discussion by 23:59 Sunday of Week 2.

Grading Rubric

Your assignment will be graded according to the grading rubric.  Your initial post receives up to 4 points and your response to a colleague 1 point.
