Module Assessment
In addition to the stage 3 summative assessed tasks at the end of each strand, there will be an individual assignment that is worth 60% of the student’s overall grade. Students will undertake an individual assignment: a 2,000 word essay +/- 10%. Students will be able to choose their own area of interest for this essay from across the three stands. This essay will build upon the case studies they have worked on in the seminars but will focus more upon explanations for human behaviour.
Task: Select a service user from one of the three simulations and identify a relevant and manageable critical stage in decision making within the simulation. Briefly outline the critical stage you have selected and critically reflect on how theories of human behaviour, law and policy inform decision making in social work practice.
There will be an essay briefing where further guidance will be issued.
