Social Problem Analysis Paper- 20% of grade

Students will demonstrate their ability to identify a social problem and provide a critical analysis of this social problem.

Social problems are defined by individuals and groups. “Acceptance of these definitions is based largely on the power of the definers (Popple & Leighninger, 2008, p. 126).” Kornblun & Julian (2009, p. 4) define a social problem as “when society reaches a consensus that a condition that affects some members has become a problem for the entire society, not just for those who are directly affected.”
