This week we saw that architecture is not only functional but expresses what matters to us and what values we hold and seek to live up to. For this assignment, you can choose to explore the structures of government or health.
Select a structure that serves as a space of governance from another country and contrast it with a government structure in America. (For example, the Supreme Court of Brasilia with the U.S. Supreme Court).
How does each structure convey the values of their nation?
What do the differences between each structure say about the time and space in which they were created?
Or
Select a medical structure in another culture and compare and contrast it with a medical structure in the United States.
How do the structures reveal differences in culture and approach to medicine and health?
What lessons does each structure hold for how we can create a space for patients to heal?
