Assume that you, as Director of Clinical Services, are a member of this management team. In the meeting, your colleague has just suggested that the Medical Clinic may not be necessary and that your Therapy Services department is overstaffed and should be cut. You need to respond.
Record and post a 2- to 3-minute video response in which you play the role of the Director of Clinical Services:
First, respond in a way that perpetuates “unhealthy conflict” in keeping the discussion unproductive and negative.
Then, respond in a way that practices “healthy conflict” in which you de-escalate the situation and advance the discussion. Your response should demonstrate professional communication.
