Reaction Paper
Rubric for Each Reaction Paper:
1. The paper must choose an issue in politics that is occurring in the U.S. or the world.
2. The source of the information should be clearly stated, and it can be from reputable sources such as New York Times, NPR, AJC, CNN, or others.
3. Clearly explain what the issue is about and provide background information.
4. Relate the story to our class discussions or readings from the course materials.
5. Clearly express your opinion about the issue, supporting it with relevant arguments and evidence.
6. Provide a solid conclusion that summarizes your main points and potentially suggests actions or further considerations.
7. The paper should be a minimum of two pages in length, excluding the title and reference pages.
8. Use APA format and cite sources properly using the guidelines from the OWL at Purdue.
9. Maintain a straightforward and clear writing style, as this is essentially your opinion on the issue. A student sample in APA format is available in the course’s resources for reference.
