The mise-en-scene of the two main characters in the start of the music video
The frame is mostly taken up by the faces of the two main characters, a male and a female, but you can see that they are in a field of flowers, on a nice day. The characters are very close and https://www.canva.com/ kissing occasionally.
The two-shot at the start of the film is deliberately used by the director to show both characters physically very close together,
This shot makes me feel like I am experiencing the scene first hand, rather than through a screen
This reminds me of how in the real-world life is unexpected and unpredictable and sometimes things that are going smooth and feel like the will never go wrong take a turn
The panning of the camera from the yelling, standing female character to the sitting male character
Female yelling at male partner on front poarch, standing about 2m apart
The panning of the camera from one character to the other is used by the director to emphasize the physical distance between the two characters, representing the condition of brokenness and emotional distance in their relationship. This technique intensifies the characters’ conflict, as opposed to the two-shot used in the beginning in the film which
The Juxtaposition between the scene at the start of the video when the couple’s relationship is trouble free, and the poarch scene where the couple …. really strengthens the director’s intention
The extreme close-up in the opening scene of the music video.
The frame is mostly taken up by the faces of the two main characters, a male and a female, but you can see that they are in a field of flowers, on a nice day. The characters are very close and kissing occasionally.
The Extreme close up shot used in this scene portrays the intimate and romantic feelings of the two characters to the audience. The closeness of the shot directly correlates to the closeness of the character’s relationship. which builds anticipation in the audience, as the ease and simpleness seems too good to be true.
The
The shot goes from footage of the band playing then abruptly cut to a scene of the military in a war
Diegetic sound bc gunshots suddenly can be heard overtop of the song as the instruments get loud and harsh which symbolize
Low angle shot at 3:43 paired with the fact that there is only one subject in the frame at a time
The shot shows the main male character yelling at the main female charcter from a low angle, the frame only shows the male.
The low angle shot forces the viewers to look up at the yelling male which makes his character’s emotions feel more intense and serious. It also makes the audience feel more connected with what’s happening in the scene as opposed to being far away and observing.
Using the information and ideas that you have gathered in your table, summarise the findings of your close viewing in paragraph form.
