Most of the language used in Codes of Conduct is boiler plate language (common/standard) therefore you don’t need to redraft your entire document from scratch. You will be graded on whether you include all the relevant information for employees, including but not limited to employee work performance, hours, leave, complaints, vacation days, termination, resignation, investigations, discrimination, etc. If you copy and paste another company’s code of conduct (more than 50%) and turn it in you will not do well (use multiple examples, pulling the best from each and incorporate your own information). In addition to the Code of Conduct you will be required to create a charitable policy for your company. Charitable policies should set forth the permitted activities where business and employee contributions can be solicited and/or donated. In addition, you may wish to create a social responsibility portion which calls for employees to have to provide services on a pro bono basis or participate in volunteer activities on behalf of the organization. These types of policies establish a baseline requiring employees to participate in socially responsible activities but may prevent employees from soliciting donations from co-workers. As it relates to both of these documents you will be grade on how much relevant information you include in your projects as well as how professional your projects appears (use graphics, same font and size, and identifying information for paragraphs is in chronologically or alphabetical order if applicable).
