In a face-to-face setting, I spend a little time each class going over real world topics and ideas that I like to think broaden the horizons of students. I’ve received positive feedback about those lessons, but struggled how to incorporate that into my online classes. This assignment is my answer.
You will choose one book from the five listed in the syllabus and write a paper that includes the three ideas that impacted YOU and your thought process most.
Papers receiving the highest grades will include the following:
A discussion of why you initially chose this book
Three complete topics of discussion
The MAJORITY of each discussion topic has your ideas, perspective and reflections – I do NOT want a recap of the text
Personal examples from your personal observations of interpersonal relationships and/or work experiences
In a world where written communication is becoming more and more important, incorrect grammar and spelling WILL negatively impact your grade. Read, reread, and then read your papers again. Spellcheck does not catch every error!
Papers should be at least 1500 words in length. Papers that do not meet this requirement will start at a maximum score of 80

Why this book? This book changed my perception of interpersonal relationships in my
personal and professional life. It was a wonderful read and one of my favorite
assignments while completing my MBA.

Why this book? Since reading it, I have taken to heart it’s principles. Some of which I
remind myself every day. This is a great all around focus on what it takes to be
successful and I’m a firm believer that everyone should read it at some point.
