I’m required to write a critical essay about one article and
put it into relation with the wider context of our courses(which is just 5
short files of lectures) and other literature.
Format: Calibri 11 pt 1,5 spacing. Please do not
“adorn” your script with cute pictures or logos. Be professional.
Just include graphs or tables if they support your argument.
• Length: the body of the assignment (i.e., excluding
bibliography and eventual appendices) should be around 5000 words (the upper
limit can be slightly exceeded)
The assignment should be compiled and laid out
professionally. All literature must be properly referenced (as you would in a
thesis). Points will be deducted for faulty referencing. You are not allowed to
use Al-tools of any kind to generate your text.
Your grade will be based on the degree to which you have
understood, and competently synthetised, the article assigned to you, linked it
to the concepts taught in the lectures, and linked it to the material presented
in the mandatory reading package, the logical structure, relevancy, and the
competent (!) use of concepts and terminology introduced during the course (in
other words, do not just give your opinion or just throw in some keywords from
the course!). No points will be given for any material that is not clearly and
competently linked to concepts introduced in the scripts or the (mandatory or
extended) reading packages.
