Hunger and the Global Environment Project Overview
Important Note: There are four parts to this project. The draft and final paper are to be completed individually. The video and Fruit of the Spirit evaluation are both CLC assignments, to be done as a group. Each of the four assignments will be graded separately.
Purpose: To research, plan, and document an activity to help end hunger locally or globally, and discuss the rationale for involvement from a Christian worldview.
Instructions: Incorporate a Christian worldview into a service learning project related to hunger, food insecurity, or malnutrition. Over the next several weeks, you will have the opportunity to research and become involved in an organization of your choice related to this topic. Monetary donations are not a requirement of this assignment. Be sure you are working with a reputable
organization and are safe while participating (i.e., donating food or money to the homeless on the street, while by yourself, or in an unsafe neighborhood, is not a safe choice). In addition, there
are many organizations you may volunteer for without the need of a car. GCU offers some of these opportunities throughout the semester. Virtual engagement is an option if opportunities are difficult to find in your area, but it remains a requirement to serve the organization you choose.
