Part I: From week one discussion, revisit your list of legislators at the national and state level (including your U.S. Congressional Representative, U.S. Senators, State Senators, and House Representatives and how to reach them) from the following website: https://www.govtrack.us/
Part II: From the same website or https://www.govtrack.us/congress/bills/#find, find legislation in the U.S. Congress that affects nursing and/or healthcare. Then, present/answer all of the following questions:
1. State the bill number and summarize your chosen bill.
2. Is your selected legislation a senate or house bill? What’s the difference?
3. Who sponsored the bill?
4. What is the status of the bill and where does it go if passed/denied?
5. What can you do as a nurse to support for or against this bill? Explain your position.
6. Who would you contact if you wanted to reach out to your designated legislators?
7. Cite your bill in APA format.
Must be a scholarly response to the weekly discussion prompt. This means your content must reflect critical analysis of the topic and synthesis of the required readings and activities.
Your initial post is due each week on Wednesday by 1159pm.
Your initial post must be at least 300 words, excluding title and references.
APA 7 formatting is required for content and references.
Use scholarly, peer-reviewed content for your in -text citations.
Your initial post must contain at least 2 peer-reviewed scholarly references that are less than 5 years old. Websites, blogs and opinion pieces are NOT considered scholarly.
One reference must be from a scholarly nursing source (your text or a peer-reviewed journal).
Only 1 short direct quote (1 line maximum) can be included in your post.
