Required: 1. Underline the thesis statement – it may be in the first paragraph. Underline the plan of development.
2. Underline each topic sentence.
3. The introduction must have a well-worded plan of development.
4. Rough draft (I should have trouble reading it.)
5. Outline (Use Theme Outline Form.)
6. Go through four stages:
Prewriting (outline)
Rough Draft
Rewriting
Proofreading
7. Try to mention by name one source.
Ex. Dr. Jones writes:
8. Each paragraph must be about one point and one point only.
9. Use transition words – In conclusion, however, also, etc.
10. The conclusion must relate back to the thesis.
11. State the audience on the outline page.
12. Good title
