The purpose of this assignment is for learners to develop the first draft of the PICOT-D for their proposed practice problem.
General Requirements:
Use the following information to ensure successful completion of the assignment:
- Refer to the “PICOT-D Selection Guidelines,” located in the DNP DPI Workspace, for assistance in completing this assignment.
- Use the “PICOT-D Question Template-801A,” located in the DC Network, to complete this assignment.
- Use the resources on the “Introduction to the GCU Library: Topics and Assignments” Research Guide, located in the GCU Library, to assist in completing this assignment.
- Refer to the “Criteria for Acceptable Research,” located in the DNP DPI Workspace, to assist in completing this assignment.
- Refer to the “Levels of Evidence in Research,” located in the Class Resources, as needed for assistance.
- A minimum of three primary quantitative research articles, published within 7 years of your anticipated graduation date, is required to complete this assignment.
- While APA style is not required for the body of this assignment, solid academic writing is expected, and documentation of sources should be presented using APA formatting guidelines, which can be found in the APA Style Guide, located in the Student Success Center.
- This assignment uses a rubric. Please review the rubric prior to beginning the assignment to become familiar with the expectations for successful completion.
- You are not required to submit this assignment to LopesWrite.
Directions:
- Use the “PICOT-D Question Template,” located in the DNP DPI Workspace, to develop a PICOT-D question for your proposed topic. If you are using the topic and proposed evidence-based intervention from your Selecting a Practice Problem assignment from Topic 3, be sure to make any changes as indicated by your instructor for that assignment.
- Set up a search strategy to find three primary quantitative research articles to support your PICOT-D question. Two of the articles must demonstrate support for the proposed intervention. List these accordingly on the “PICOT-D Question Template-801A” and include a working link for each article. Also submit the three articles as PDFs with your submission.
