Advocates of school-wide positive behavioral support (SWPBS) or PBIS insist that a school have at least an 80% buy-in before attempting to implement the system. “Buy-in” means that at least 80% of the faculty agrees to implement SWPBS/PBIS. Why is “buy-in” important? Imagine yourself as a principal or advocate, and describe how you would get others to buy into the PBIS system.

Many general education teachers resist including students with disruptive externalizing behaviors in their classrooms. However, there are many reasons to keep students who need to improve their behavior in the general education classroom. Provide arguments for including students with behavior disabilities in the general education classroom. Why might some teachers resist keeping students with EBD in the general education classroom.
