How to write this analysis:
Write a two-page (500 words minimum, double-spaced) analysis. 
Now that you have become more familiar with the “nuts and bolts” or “building blocks” of Jazz and some of the historical highlights take that knowledge and use it to analyze a piece of music (1 song or tune) you choose from an academic perspective.
This can be a jazz piece from any style, but make sure there is enough musical content to report on in a way that addresses the assignment’s requirements. If you are unsure what to choose, feel free to contact me. 
Your analysis should include the following:
-A URL link to the piece you are discussing. (1 song or tune)
-General description of what piece you are discussing. Who wrote it? Who is performing it? When was it written?
-Thorough description of instruments and/or voices used in the piece.
-How would you describe the style of the piece? For example, traditional, swing, bebop, Latin, cool, fusion, etc. 
-The number of different musical ideas you hear in the piece. Are there two ideas that you might label A and B? Is there only one musical idea? Are there more than two ideas? Describe these different musical ideas to the best of your ability.
-The form of the piece. For example, 32-bar form, 12-bar blues, free form, solo chorus, head,  etc.
-What are the musical elements that make up this piece?
-Anything else that you think is relevant from an analysis perspective.
This assignmeny must include:
500-word minimum
Double-space
12 pt. Times font
Plagiarized or AI-Generated papers will receive no credit and be reported to the college
Provide a URL link to the song or tune
What is the name of the piece?
Who is the composer? 
Is there any historical information about the piece? 
What was the style?
What was the instrumentation of the ensemble?
Discuss your thoughts on the piece. 
Suggestions for Writing and Editing Papers
Writing:
Name, date, course, professor, and assignment in the upper left corner.
Title (centered)
Thesis Statement
A short introductory summary of intent that states what will be covered in the content.
Body
Separate ideas into indented paragraphs.
Double-space.  Paragraphs should also be separated by a double space.
Avoid using “you.”  Too direct to the audience.
Avoid slang (unless appropriate to the subject) and conversational writing.
Delete needless sentences.  Does each sentence bolster the main idea of the paragraph?
Does the paper meet the requirements of length? 
Use Times and 12 pt. font.
Avoid excessive white space.
500-word minimum.
Conclusion
A summary of the conclusion reached through research.
