Unit 4 Essay
The purpose of this essay is for you to briefly discuss items that you found interesting from each of the four units in this course. You must cite either your text or any of the videos in the course with your answers. One item per unit will be expected for your essay.
Instructions:
1. Think of one item, subject, or artwork from each of the four units in this course. What did you learn about this item or subject? What did you find intriguing?
2. Find that information within the Chapter links of the class or the videos related to those items. Review those as needed. You will need to refer to these in your answers.
3. Write a paragraph (at least 5 sentences) about each of those four chosen items. Be specific in what you learned or what you found interesting. The paragraphs do not need to be terribly long, as I don’t think a lengthy essay is necessary. Just don’t be vague or too general in your response. I need to know specifics and what you got from your sources. At least five sentences long should be enough to give enough details on what intrigued or enlightened you.
4. For each paragraph, you will want to use a parenthetical citation at the end of the paragraph. This is similar to what you might use for your English courses.
Think of your assignment format looking something like this:

UNIT 1
I learned a great deal about Plato’s Allegory of the Cave …. (TED-Ed, “Plato’s Allegory of the Cave”).
UNIT 2
The section in Chapter 5 on monasteries were interesting to me… (Ch. 5, “The Romanesque Age in Christendom”).
Repeat the same for Units 3 (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tecocKSclwc) and 4. If you have not completed Unit 4 by the time you write this, something from Chapter 10 is sufficient for the assignment. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EFHPAbHaoqk)

5. Check spelling, grammar, and punctuation, as I will evaluate those as part of the assignment grade.
**Do not worry about a works cited page for this assignment. If this were a full-blown research paper, I would require one, but I’m more interested in what you have learned and found interesting in the course. You do need the parenthetical citations, or else you will not pass this assignment.
