There are various sub-types of these
disorders, and you can choose to focus on one of those sub-types if you prefer,
just as long as we have covered it in this unit.
Step 2: The
second aspect to this assignment is to describe the evidence-based
pharmacological and behavioural treatments for the chosen disorder.
“Pharmacological” means medication, but “behavioural”
covers almost everything else.
The treatments you select to
describe must be “evidence-based” and that evidence must come from
scientific peer-reviewed journals, NOT from websites, even if those websites
are run by professional organisations. This is very important, and you need to
be careful about the sources you choose.
USE DSM-5 criteria towards diagnosis
If you want to conduct a literature/research review
then, you might consider the following guidance in undertaking the creating a
structure for the review.
1. Introduction: Topic sentences that contextualise
your review (purpose, significance and scope). Following sentence/s that state
criteria for your literature selection. Final sentence/s that include a list of
key topics that will be used to discuss the selected sources.
2. Body: Divide up your text into sections/topics
as indicated in the last sentence of your introduction. Each paragraph will
present a theme/topic that is a synthesis of the many texts that you have
chosen for your literature review.
3. Conclusion: Summarise the main agreements and
disagreements in the literature, identifying gaps or areas for further
research. Then, state an overall perspective on the topic
