Purpose:
The purpose of this task is for students to create an information booklet for ACAP student counsellors to demonstrate their knowledge and comprehension of developmental tasks for nominated life stages.

Process:
Students nominate two life stages from: early adolescence, later adolescence, early adulthood, middle adulthood and later adulthood.
Students will identify two developmental tasks for each life stage they nominated and discuss these through the lens of typical development and atypical development.

Information booklet:
Using the information booklet template (in a MS Word document) provided in the online class space (under Assessments – Information on Assessment 2), unit materials and authoritative sources, students will:

  • describe developmental tasks for two chosen life stages: early adolescence, later adolescence, early adulthood, middle adulthood and later adulthood
  • discuss these tasks through the lens of typical development and atypical development.
